"Are You Really That Jealous?"
Monday, January 5, 2009 at 6:13 PM I’m sorry, but your health is too important for you to be taking medical advice from a site that doesn’t even require it’s writers to use real names. And it’s too important for you to be taking advice from someone who thinks that re-writing a piece from Wikipedia or WebMD is “research”.
"Why Do You Hate Colonics?"
Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 7:19 PM “Why do you hate colonics so much?”
I don’t hate colonics. But …
FTC & Cancer Claims
Monday, October 13, 2008 at 1:54 PM “What do you know about the FTC shutting down all those websites selling cancer herbs?”
I probably don’t know a whole lot more than you do. On September 18, 2008, the Federal Trade Commission, or FTC, announced that it had taken 11 different “actions” against web sites that had refused prior warnings (issued between August 2007 and January 2008) to remove cancer-curing claims from their web sites and marketing materials. I had never even heard of some of the companies and was only slightly familiar with a few of them. None of them were companies whose owners I personally knew.
The Best Piece of Exercise Equipment
Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM “If you were way out of shape and could only buy one machine to work out on what you it be? Treadmill?”
I suppose that the best piece of equipment is the piece that you’re actually going to use. For me, that would be a treadmill but someone else, that might be weight bench or a yoga mat or a martial arts DVD.
Should You Spray For Ticks?
Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 1:57 PM “My wife and I can’t agree on what to do about the ticks in our yard. I say spray but she won’t hear of spraying chemicals. We’ve tried everything else and still have ticks. We don’t know what else to do. What would you do?”
Well, at the risk of sounding like a hypocrite, I’d probably spray. Natural medicine isn’t just about living a low-chemical lifestyle; it’s also about preventing disease and if spraying a chemical or putting down granules lowered my risk of Lyme disease, STARI or any of the other tickborne diseases out there, I’d seriously consider it. Which is more palatable to you—spraying your yard a couple of times a year with chemicals or taking a round of antibiotics to battle the infections that ticks can cause?
